A grieving Texas family is asking for the public’s help in finding answers after their daughter’s cherished Texas A&M Aggie ring reportedly disappeared following her death in December 2025.
Grace, a proud Texas A&M graduate from the Class of 2020, treasured her Aggie ring and wore it proudly every day. To her family, the ring represented far more than a piece of jewelry. It was a symbol of her education, accomplishments, memories, and connection to the Aggie community.
According to her family, they know the ring was on Grace’s finger when she died. They were also reportedly told that the ring remained with her when her body was received at the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office. However, when Grace eventually arrived at the family’s local funeral home, the Aggie ring was missing.
Instead, the family says they were presented with a piece of inexpensive costume jewelry that did not resemble Grace’s distinctive Aggie ring. They believe the substitution occurred sometime between the medical examiner’s office, Austin Mortuary Services, and the funeral home.
The circumstances surrounding the disappearance have understandably caused tremendous additional pain for Grace’s family. While they were already coping with the devastating loss of their daughter, they were confronted with the realization that one of her most treasured possessions was no longer with her.
The family says they have attempted to exhaust other avenues before making their concerns public. They are now appealing to anyone who may have information about what happened to the ring.
They have also attempted to bring attention to the matter through local media, including contacting Rusty Surette. According to the family, they provided additional information after receiving an initial response but did not receive further communication.
The family hopes someone who knows what happened will come forward and help return Grace’s ring. They are asking former employees, witnesses, or anyone with relevant information to speak up.
For Grace’s loved ones, recovering the ring would mean recovering a small but deeply meaningful part of her story.
They are asking anyone with information to help them find answers and, ultimately, bring Grace’s beloved Aggie ring home.
